As some of you know, the SABR fiscal year runs from June 1 to May 31. Each year the chapter is required to submit an annual report to the national offices. This year, we are doing so for the first time as an official Board and are proud to share this report with you. Please click on the Adobe Acrobat link below to load the .pdf file of your chapter's annual report. As always, if anyone has any questions, please email us at questions-comments@sabrnyc.org and your inquiry will be directed to the person(s) best suited to answer. [K. Carter]

Our second Board of Directors Zoom meeting was held on Wednesday, May 22.. This meeting was open to all chapter members. Topics included: Summary of CSC activities June 1, 2023 to May 22, 2024; Updates on the CSC newsletter; and Plans for local meetings (in the 5 boroughs and in the NYC metro area). To read the minutes of our Board meeting, please visit this link to load the Adobe Acrobat .pdf file. As always, if anyone has any questions, please email us at questions-comments@sabrnyc.org and your inquiry will be directed to the person(s) best suited to answer. [E. Begley, K. Carter]

Our first Board of Directors Zoom meeting was on Monday, April 8. To read the minutes of our inaugural meeting, please visit this link to load the Adobe Acrobat .pdf file. One of the topics we discussed was the announcement of an election for Chapter Treasurer. Here is an excerpt from our Chapter Bylaws:

ARTICLE III: DUTIES OF OFFICERS AND BOARD MEMBERS
Section 4 – Treasurer

The Treasurer maintains the Chapter’s bank account, with another Board member as a second signatory. The Treasurer collects and deposits all funds into the account, reconciles the bank statements, pays expenses and Board-approved reimbursements, and insurance for Chapter events. The Treasurer gives a full financial report at Board meetings and also submits an annual report to SABR Headquarters by the designated date.

Voting For Chapter Treasurer has now been completed! Congratulations to David Lippman for securing 97.9% of the vote. Thank you to all Casey Stengel Chapter members who voted. [E. Begley, K. Carter]

With each new year, we review the year that just ended, and we anticipate the upcoming year with its promise of newness: new people in our lives, new events to enjoy, and new opportunities to make a difference. In 2024, members of the Casey Stengel Chapter, like other chapters, have read and reviewed their bylaws in compliance with national SABR guidelines and ratified them with a near-unanimous 96.97% approval vote.

Your Bylaws are available for you to read here by clicking on the Adobe Acrobat button below.
